Meet The Orthodontist
Judith A. Okun, DMD
Dr. Judith A. Okun was born and raised in the town of Rye. She graduated from the Blind Brook School System and received her Bachelors degree from Brandeis University, her dental degree (D.M.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania, her certificate [of training] in orthodontics from Columbia University, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists (Board Certified). She did her General Practice Residency at the Dental Care Center of the University of Pennsylvania and her externship training at Graduate Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Okun is the past International Undergraduate Representative of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. She has lectured to numerous dental study groups and she founded the Hutchinson Study Group. In 1991, she and Dr. Stanley I. Okun won the Joseph E. Johnson Table Clinic Award for their work on dentofacial orthopedics. Dr. Okun has had over twenty years of experience working in orthodontics. Dr. Judith Okun's practice is located in Rye Brook, serving Port Chester, Rye Brook, and White Plains in Westchester County, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut.
Stanley L. Okun, DDS
Dr. Stanley I. Okun has had more than forty years of experience in Orthodontics. He is a graduate of Bradley University (BS) and New York University College of Dentistry (DDS) and received his certificate of training in Orthodontics from Columbia University. Prior to serving in the United States Army Dental Corps, Dr. Okun did his surgical externship at Harlem Hospital where he was qualified to teach surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Okun taught on the staff of Jewish Memorial Hospital as Assistant Chief of Orthodontics, and served at Harlem Hospital as orthodontic consultant to the surgical staff. He served as president of the Columbia Orthodontic Alumni Association and the Columbia Orthodontic Board of Trustees, as well as the President of the Westchester Chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. He has led discussion groups at several of the international meetings of the American Association of Orthodontists, and in 1991 he and Dr. Judith Okun won the Joseph E. Johnson Table Clinic Award for their work on dentofacial orthopedics.
Both Drs. Okun continually update their knowledge by attending numerous lectures and courses. They are also active members of the following dental organizations and have held a number of offices in them:
